My first (and only) Page
Today when I was supposed to be doing my math homework/getting ready to go see the Nutcracker, I decided I was going to make a Wordle. Anyways, I couldn’t find a song with clean lyrics(a big problem today, in my opinion), so I settled on doing it about my first and only page, All About Me. Of course I omitted some words that didn’t make sense, or just sounded strange, but for the most part it’s authentic. Enjoy! P.S. Click on it to enlarge it.
Football
By the luck of the draw, I just happened to be watching college football tonight. Let me be clear on one thing-my family RARELY watches college football-EVER. It’s not that we don’t like it, it’s just that we don’t really cheer on a specific college, so there’s not much point in us watching it. Anyways, so we ended up watching the game between University of Texas and Texas A and M. That was SUCH a great game! Congratulations to both teams; there were some really amazing plays in the game! Surprisingly, I didn’t get much work done while watching, which is why I am up so late (and I’m on break), but that means the teams kept my attention, which means they were interesting! They should feel proud! Anyways, both teams played their hearts out, with stellar quarterback performances. I hope they enjoy what is left of their Thanksgiving and rest up tomorrow! Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Makeup
I LOVE PLAYING WITH MAKEUP! Not in a bad way, where it looks like a rainbow threw up on me, but like to see what each color looks like on my face. If I wasn’t soooo lazy, I’d probably wear more (if my parents were okay with it, of course…sigh lol), but I am NOT a morning person AT ALL, so I don’t put on very much before school. My mom told me she was going to take me to one of those makeup stands in our local mall where they give you a makeover. I’M SOO EXCITED! Getting a makeover makes me feel so important! Like “I’m too important to do my own makeup, so you need to do it for me!” Haha well I must be hyper off the Hershey Bar Pie that I just ate for Thanksgiving which was very good cuz I made it. Anyways more on that makeover later! Have a safe and happy holidays!

Paperwork. No one likes to do it. Yet, however unfortunately, it is an essential part of modern society today. These seemingly trivial, useless, even unimportant pieces of paper are frighteningly crucial. One piece of paper proves that a couple is legally married. One piece of paper is evidence of the beginning of a life. One piece of paper is the sole portal for the outside world into the complicated workings of a murder trial. The list goes on and on, with countless examples of how important one mundane sheet of paper can become. Who knew papers could have such huge consequences? And yet, not all papers have pleasant results. These papers can be rejection letters, stating bluntly that one is not good enough for the college of their dreams. They can be a breakup letter, saying that “it just isn’t going to work out”, and breaking a heart in the process. Worst of all, they can be warrants for arrests, or death notices. These papers are a pivotal part of society today. Paperwork is what wrongly sentenced Mike Norris. The penalty for improperly filling this out should have been a fine, at most. This certainly should not have been any jail time, let alone two years. This needs to be fixed, and soon. Who knows how many lives have been changed, memories lost, due to our government’s legal structure? This issue is a growing one, and needs to be fixed now.

2. Why were Kathy and George Norris the subject of a government investigation?
Kathy and George Norris were the subject of a government investigation because George did not properly fill out paperwork when importing orchids. Mr. Norris runs a business with orchids to make his living, you see, and has to import his product. There are a multitude of papers that need to be filled out for the transaction to be “legal”. However, hardly any of these papers have any merit. Basically, this poor man was accused for a crime concerning a pointless law.
5. Is it a good use of money and resources to investigate, prosecute, and imprison people like Mr. Norris? Is he a criminal for improperly filing paperwork? The US government is wasting time and funds looking into cases similar to Mr. Norris’. One who forgets to fill out paperwork is not a criminal. THEY ARE HUMAN. Everyone makes mistakes, and if an honest man like Mr. Norris makes one, should he be federally charged and prosecuted? No offense to all you older people out there, but most of you guys can’t do much damage. I hardly think that Mr. Norris seems like all that threatening a figure. The US government is spending money they don’t have when looking into cases such as these.
Theatre
At my school, we get electives, which are basically fun classes. My favorite elective is my Theatre class. I LOVE this class! We hang out all the time, and are really close now. Right now we are working on a children’s show about modern fairytales, and it is so much fun! I am soo glad I am in this class! This weekend we are going to a tournament together and we will have soo much fun! I am soo excited!
AOW #12 Reflection
I commend this farmer for his work in alternative fuel sources. He truly exemplifies not leaving anything to waste. This man is a great example of bucking the trend and using different ways to do the same thing. Just because everyone else is using electricity to power their farms doesn’t mean he has to. By using unusual methods, he is able to get the job done just as well as he would have. Furthermore, this method pays off because it uses every part of the farm, including the not so popular portions. Wastefulness is a big problem in our society today, especially in America. We need to learn how to reuse things. We need to learn how to conserve things for longer. Just because we’ve used something more than once does not mean we have to throw it away. Some of us, especially those who are more well off, need to learn this valuable lesson. The governments should emphasize conservation in out communities. This is crucial especially in this time of global warming issues. Every little bit we can do to help our environment is important. We need to work together to make a difference globally. Our ecosystem is important to everyone. We need to stop thinking selfishly, and start thinking globally, as a community. Let’s work together with our international brothers and sisters, and make the world a better place. A better place for them, and for us. And not just for us, but for our descendants.
For All You Who Don’t Live in the United States
Being the overly curious one that I am, I have a few basic questions about your traditions, language, and educate.
- Do you use different words for household objects? For example, in Hawaii they call flip flops “slippers”.
- Is there anything that others do at the dinner table (e.g. burping) that is extremely rude in your country?
- What is the weirdest holiday specific to your region?
What I Would Want to Learn in a Future Blog Challenge
If I could write one challenge for the student blogging challenge, then I would want to know about the participants’ hometown customs. What do they do in their city, state or country that would be considered out of the ordinary in other parts of the world? Do they use different words than commonly recognized? Are their holidays different than the international holidays? In short, what makes the area they live in unique?

1. Would the digester have been a good investment even without the government subsidy? Explain.
Yes, the digester would have been a good investment. Even though this transaction would have costed a huge amount of money, it would have paid itself off itself in five years. This would have been an energy saving method that would have paid off in just five years. The government subsidy was just a bonus that helped those who don’t have the money to make down payments on the technology. Overall, the digester is a smart buy for all who are considering it.
2. How can we tell if alternative energy sources such as this are better than this are better than more traditional energy sources? There is no definite way to tell which energy source is the “best”. Frankly, I am more of an advocate for those alternative energy sources that are better for the environment, though they may be more expensive. Why wouldn’t these be more popular, if they are furthering the planet’s longevity? The government should advocate using these sources, and reward those who do. Alternative energy sources are our planet’s future.
